“Just down the road from where Kane Realty Corp. has hit a snag on its development plans, another massive project is moving forward. Known as The Exchange, the $1 billion project along St. Albans Drive near Duke Raleigh Hospital is nearing the end of its foundational work before the first of two 12-story buildings goes vertical.

Dewitt Carolinas is the developer behind the mixed-use destination, which is expected to take between seven to 10 years to complete and will include apartments, retail and office space.
